Simply 17 of those appearances were starts only this was through no fault of Oxlade-Chamberlain's, but rather due to the quality of the aforementioned midfielders he is competing for minutes with. It is no surprise Klopp wants to keep the Southampton academy graduate, even if it means losing him for free next year, as he provides Liverpool with vital depth in midfield and out broad as they compete on numerous fronts.

Having decided against selling Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, the Reds manager must hold house in his stance among reported interest from West Ham, who are understood to be weighing upward a £10million bid. Selling the role player with only over two weeks remaining until the Premier League kicks off would leave Liverpool either a man down for the flavor or scrambling to sign a replacement.
